How TO Marketing YOUR COACHING SERVICES

 

Marketing your coaching services to athletes, on top of providing the actual coaching, is a tough job!  First, it’s hard to find the time to connect with athletes and pitch them on why they should train with you over another coach or a training program.

Second, with so many ways to advertise your services, whether that’s through email, social media, at events, or with Google ads, how do you decide where to spend your time and money?

Well, as we’ve worked with several different coaches in the past, when Coach Adam Mills and his company Source Endurance came to us in 2022, we knew exactly how we could help! 

Source Endurance provides professional coaching, training plans, and camps for road, track, and gravel cyclists, along with mountain bikers.  And while Adam manages a team of coaches in addition to his own personal clients, he’s also developing training plans through Training Peaks, writing training blogs, and he collaborates with USA Cycling to provide cycling training camps and coaches’ trainings.  Oh, and he competes as a Cat 1 cyclist against the best of the best!!

When Adam approached us, he wanted to transition away from creating the content in-house to have Top Rope Media create copy for social, send monthly newsletters, and roll with a marketing strategy that could free up his time to focus on business development.  Therefore, we decided to use the following tools to help generate both brand awareness and revenue for Source Endurance:

  • Email Marketing via Mailchimp
  • Facebook + Instagram social posts
  • Source Endurance’s Athlete Ambassadors
  • Google Search Ads

Marketing tools to Reach athletes where they spend their time

 

While most athletes spend 15-20+ hours each week training, they are also spending time on social media.  Perhaps it’s checking out what their teammates are up to.  Or their competition!

In addition, athletes are also searching Google for training tips to improve performance, stay healthy, and have some sort of work-life-training balance!    

Therefore, we’re helping Source Endurance market their coaching services by filling their social feeds and email newsletters with training tips, race-specific training plans, nutrition prep, and more.
